ICSS2015 : “Cyber Security and Forensic Readiness” is organised by the Belgian Cybercrime Centre of Excellence (B-CCENTRE) - KU Leuven on 4-5 February 2015 in Leuven, Belgium. A pre-conference B-CCENTRE workshop will be held on 3 February to present the work B-CCENTRE has accomplished over the past 4 years.

ICSS2015 will present the latest developments and thoughts in the field of cybercrime and cybersecurity and will be a unique gathering of cybercrime experts from all over the world. The objective of the conference is to present the challenges, visions and strategies, state-of-the art and perspectives in the area of information and network security, cyber risk management as well as cyber forensics to a wider audience from public and private sector as well as academia. ICSS2015: Keynote SPEAKERS

A Keynote speaker like Bruce Schneier hardly needs an introduction. The respected security expert is frequently consulted: one turns to Schneier if in need to know how security works. Schneier is first and foremost a cryptography expert, but writes about information security in the wide sense. Turn to his blog to get a preview on his contribution.

Rik Ferguson, Global Vice-President of Security Research at Trend Micro, will be speaking as well. He is recognised as one of Europe’s experts in information security. He is a Special Advisor to Europol and is actively engaged in research into online threats and the underground economy.

Ronald Prins is the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder of FOX-IT, one of the few companies in Europe specialised in cyberforensics. As a cryptography expert he contributed to new methods and best practices for obtaining digital information in criminal investigations. He will be giving a glimpse into the future of malware, and how to protect yourself against it.

Dr. Benoît Dupont is Professor of Criminology at the Université de Montréal, where he holds the Canada Research Chair in Security and Technology and leads the Cyber Criminology Lab (LC2). He will provide us with the social network analysis he made on mapping the patterns and performance of policing cooperation networks in the fight against cybercrime.

The rest of the conference is organised in two tracks: Panels and Law Enforcement Workshops.

Panels

The first track consists of panel sessions open to all, particularly interesting for industry and policy participants.

Topics will range from national and international governmental strategies, company and organisational strategies to cyber security readiness, as well as cyber forensic readiness. The goal is to discuss and inform on practical methods to secure an organisation and deal efficiently with cybercrime. The challenges and opportunities offered by Big Data for public and private sector, as well as law enforcement and the criminal world will be looked into as well.

Workshops

The second track consists of workshops organised for experts from Law Enforcement dealing with cybercrime, including some closed sessions. The workshops are meant to inform on recent evolutions and available tools for digital forensics, online investigations and cyber intelligence. Topics broached include the Dark Web, fighting online child abuse, malware analysis. Hands on experience will come from the presentation of the challenges of recent real live cases. Sessions include information on possibilities for capacity building for law enforcement.

The pre-congress Workshop organised by the B-CCENTRE on 3 February will give an overview of what the B-CCENTRE has accomplished in 4 years.
