Big Data - as in massive amounts of data collection, processing, storage and archiving - creates a couple of new challenges for people who try to deal with data management, information management, but also people who are involved in securing this information. Security for big data is about providing access, ensuring data protection (as in avoiding data leakage), but also about integrity and data management. Big Data in information security landscape also refers to the way Information Security technologies are making use of historical data, security information and event (SIEM) management data, to improve ways to better secure the organization.
